In dialogue, identities and difference are explored personal experience and emotions are

talked about, and participants learn to actively listen to other perspectives. There is no single

reality or truth, no dualism with right and wrong answers but rather multiplicity and complexity
Participants are supported in critical thinking, revealing and re-evaluating assumptions and

biases.


Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange model of facilitated dialogue adopted in virtual exchanges is based

on some fundamental premises:

     * Dialogue does not happen on its own – and for dialogue to progress, facilitators have an

important role to play.
     *  Facilitators act as process leaders; they do not contribute to the substance of the discussion.

     *  The facilitator's aim is to lead the group process; to help the group to improve the way they

communicate, examine and solve problems, and be more self-reflective.

To be able to achieve this, and to empower the group, Erasmus+ facilitators rely on and adhere to

neutrality; they do not express their own opinion. One key part of the facilitator role is to make the

dialogue process explicit and promote awareness of dialogue amongst participants. Participants are

encouraged to think of themselves as multifaceted beings. This enables participants and groups to

appreciate and understand the dynamic and fluid nature of their own and other identities and to think

EYE partners with Crisalus Virtual Exchanges to support sustained, technology-enabled education

programmes and activities. The goal is simple....














      *  People-To-People Interactions take place to support the

process of diverse people collaboratively analyzing and

addressing complex problems that transcend borders towards 

collaboration in cross-border projects and intercultural dialogue. 


      * Student-To-Student interactionstake place between

classrooms located in different parts of the world to facilitate

computer-supported collaborative learning through technology.

Students can also be considered as beneficiaries of EYE

programming who participate in different components of a

project.

    * Teacher-To-Teacher Interactions constitute Communities

of Practice in specific subjects and disciplines to share resources,

nurture relationships and collaborate.  

Quick Links

Dialogue cannot be reduced to the act of one person’s “depositing”

ideas in another, nor can it become a simple exchange of ideas to

be “consumed” by the discussants. Dialogue is not coercive or

confrontational, but a collaborative, mutual learning process.

Organise a Virtual Exchange Supported by Crisalus.

Our facilitators have been trained to conduct

virtual exchanges under the Erasmus+ Model

of facilitated dialogue.

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges promote 

facilitated small-group dialogue in a semi-

structured format with Erasmus+-certified 

facilitators. The European Commission is

keen to have all Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange

activities include facilitated dialogue, and

they are, therefore, an important part of

Transnational Erasmus+ projects.


Participating EYE pilot-project organizers

are required to organize their beneficiaries

into groups of 10-12, with more or less equal

numbers from each of the partner involved

in a project. Groups meet for online dialogue

sessions that are led by our Erasmus+-certified

facilitators.
